How long must a teen keep a learner’s permit before applying for a provisional license?

A teen must hold a learner’s permit for at least six months and be at least 16 years old before they can take the road test for a provisional license.

At what age is someone considered an adult for a driver’s license in Texas?

In Texas, individuals aged 18 and older are considered adults when applying for a driver’s license.

What does an adult need to do to obtain a learner’s permit in Texas?

Adults aged 18-24 must complete a 6-hour online driver’s education course and pass the test. After completing the course, they must bring their completion certificate to DPS to apply for a learner’s permit.
