License Restrictions:

  • Must drive with a licensed adult 21+ years of age

  • Must wait until 16 and have learner license for 6+ months to be eligible for a road test

  • Must hold learner license for 6+ months to take the road test and get a provisional license

  • Cannot have more than one  passenger under  21 who is not a family member.            

  • Cannot drive between midnight and 5am

  • Two Proofs of Texas residency (utilities bill, etc.)

  • Proof of Identity (birth certificate, etc.)

  • Social Security Card

  • Verification of Enrollement (VOE)

  • DPS DL14B application for license

  • Certificate of completion of ITTD

  • Proof of insurance if the car is under student's name

  • Pass vision exam

  • Pass knowledge test (if not taken at school)

  • Issuance fee ($17)

  • Your learner license
